Placing a Value on History

Since the collection was assembled by the Sellars throughout the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's, for many women represented in the collection, recognition and current market values have soared thereby proving not only the validity of their artistic achievements but also the desirability of, and market demand for, the works of these talented and dedicated artists. The value of the collection as a whole has markedly appreciated since its inception further indicating its future worth, not only for its national importance as a historical document but as an investment commodity as well.

As to the majority of this collection having been exhibited over the last 15 years, its condition and presentation (framing) have been professionally handled. The artists have been extensively researched and biographical information carefully maintained. The collection is basically in a museum state of grace.

An Opportunity to Preserve, Protect and Honor

Undoubtedly the collection will best serve posterity and represent these women artists important role in American art history by remaining as it is, intact, as an important historical document that broadens and adds depth to our country's art heritage.

The beauty and synchronicity of the numerous possibilities for utilizing this collection is one of its greatest attributes. Whether aquired by an individual or organizational philanthropic group for gifting to their favored university, museum or business headquarters; or a national or personal political organization focusing on American womens' history and achievements; or a nationally recognized art institution to develope "The Museum of American Art by Women"; or a private museum that would gain national recognition through ownership, this collection's potential is unlimited.

Whatever its future path will be, this collections power and influence will draw an abundance of acclaim and respect. We do hope that it will continue to be available to all who would desire to witness its grandeur and significance.
